Restaurant workers hogtie would-be robber
NORMAN, OK -- An armed robber gets more than he bargained for when he hits a Norman restaurant. He thought he could get away with money, but ended up hogtied by employees. It was just after 10 p.m.Wednesday, a man walked into the Asian Buffet with a gun. What happened next is not likely what he expected.
Rape victim tries to run over attackers
OKLAHOMA CITY -- The search is on for two men wanted for a violent crime. The terrifying ordeal began at Southwest 59th and Western. That's where police say the suspects forced a 36-year-old woman into her car. The attackers then drove the taped-up woman to a remote area near Purcell and raped her. Eventually the suspects drove the victim back to Oklahoma City and let her go. Surprisingly, the two attackers then got out of the car.
Responding officer hits, kills motorist
OKLAHOMA CITY -- An Oklahoma City police officer is at the center of an investigation after he was involved in a deadly collision along Southwest 29th and Indiana early Thursday morning. Officials say the officer was responding to a near-by larceny call and was headed eastbound on 29th street when the driver of a white car pulled out into the intersection.
Out of state roofers evade OK taxes
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Thousands of people are getting new roofs after the hail storm and tornadoes this year. But one local roofer says some of the out-of-town companies that are fixing many roofs may not be paying state taxes. The law is that if you make money in Oklahoma, the tax from those profits must stay here. The reality is that money made here often leaves and goes unreported.
Fight leaves one run over, two beaten, another kidnapped
HUNTER, OK -- A wild confrontation puts four people behind bars. When it was all over, one person had been run over, two others beaten and another kidnapped. It was a series of events that pitted relative against relative and ended with two people in the hospital. Children's toys, appliances and even a John Deere tractor litter the front yard. But not long ago, this is where 37-year-old Teresa Winton was run over by a relative.
Man accused of molesting child
EDMOND, OK -- Police arrested a man accused of inappropriately touching a young girl. Investigators say James Hampton, 55, is facing four charges of lewd acts with a child under 16 years old. Police say Hampton asked the girl to baby-sit his grandchild last week. According to a police report, the victim told her mom that while she was at the home, "Mr. Jimmy had asked her to put a swim suit on and began rubbing lotion on her legs."
Devon tower reaches milestone
OKLAHOMA CITY -- The new Devon headquarters isn't scheduled to be complete until sometime in 2012, but the project has just reached an important milestone. The tower will soon start to become a more visible part of the Oklahoma City skyline. Wednesday Devon Executive Chairman Larry Nichols, along with representatives from Hines and Flintco, met to talk about the project's latest milestone, the sixth floor.
